About this Listing
The Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, although of modest proportions, had a roster of freight, passenger and work-service cars equal in variety and interest to fleets of much larger railroads. Contributing factors were the great amount of rebuilding done in Rio Grande shops, and the line’s close association with other railroads at times, such as that with the Western Pacific early in the 20th century.
The fascination many have with Rio Grande rolling stock, plus the excellent draftsmanship of the floor plans and elevation drawings of the cars, prompted this publication of a representative selection of the plans.
